Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precariousFUTURE she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness,COMPLETE with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery startsRECEIVING threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for. Summary from Goodreads.
I loved this book. Loved it. With a person like Cam how could I not. The plot was very well written it was full of humor, sadness, some butt kicking, drama and intense, strong emotions that will move you and leave you wanting more. When I picked up this book I couldn’t put it back down if you’re going to read this book make sure you have a good 2 hours so you don’t have to stop which you probably won’t want to anyway. The characters in this book were incredible, there development over the course of the book was out of this world too. It was so much fun to see all the trouble Cam was willing to go through just to get Avery to notice him. Let alone go on a date with him. I love how he kept trying, kept trying to prove to her that he was the guy for her, that he was the guy she wanted, I love that he kept trying to prove to her that some things are worth fighting for and that she was one of them. I also loved that he kept telling her that she would give in, that no one could resist the Cam and his cookies. It was also very cool to see how Cam changed over the course of the book. He became less the party boy and more the Avery guy. It was cute the way he would worry and watch over her in the book and wouldn’t stay some place she wasn’t comfortable being. Yes Cam changed a lot but so did Avery it was cool to see her come out of her shell and break down some of the walls she had built around herself and her heart. It was also fun to see her make new friends and try new things as she started to become the girl we all know and love. It was also really cool to see her deal with the problems of her past and get over them with a little help from her friends and Cam of course. I was also really proud of Avery when she stood up to that girl that was sending her those emails calling her a coward and so on when in reality all she was, was brave. Brave enough to stop running from her problems and face them, to look them straight in the eye and tell them to go to hell. Strong enough to not be sucked back in, strong enough to come out victorious.
My fav character.
My fav character is without a doubt Avery. Why? I’ll tell you. I love that she’s a fighter. I love that she didn’t let her old problems stop her. I loved that she was strong enough to look her problems and all them haters in the eye and tell them to go to hell. I love that she was strong enough to deal with all that she went through and one day I wish I could be as strong as her.
